As with a lot of things on this farm, previous owners did some pretty crappy work of running wires up into the backyard for a receptacle (no idea why this is here) and to the well house. One of the wires in the picture above is live. Scary. Just laying on the ground, and clearly damaged several times as noted by the electrical tape. Unfortunately, this mess supplies the receptacle in the well house to which any heat source might be plugged. After about 4-5 hours of work, I finally figured out that the wire running from the random yard receptacle to the well house has a bad neutral leg. So eventually, I'll have to trench a new line to the well house and get rid of these wires completely. Ugh.
