Of the many mysteries on this farm, random electrical wires have to be amongst the most confusing and dangerous. The wire above for example. In the garden field and tucked in amongst sapling pine trees, it was fully live. So I spent a bit of time yesterday trying to label the farm panel and identify some of the extraneous wires coming out of the ground.
Perhaps the most scary of all are the four wires going out to the large greenhouse and are just coiled up above ground. 60amps and they were live. Just imagine the fun if I had run those over with the bushhog as they were buried in the weeds!
This panel is a bit of a mess as well. Notice the variety of breakers used in the panel, and since they have different faces than what was designed for the panel, the cover doesn't fit properly. This is true for the one in the shop as well.
